The Tharu people are the original settlers of Bardia, coexisting with the wild animals in total isolation until 1895.

To visit the Tharu village is a step back in time to a way of life hundreds of years old.
We also offer traditional Tharu dancing on request.
Elephant bathing: Domesticated elephants will come on request to the river to share a bath with you (amazing pictures garanted).
Elephant stable visit: This is where all domesticated elephants spend the night. Babies are often seen there.
Bardia National Park headquarter visit: You will discover a small Tharu museem, an infomation center and a crocodile breeding farm.
